Allowed Domains

Updated by Eddie Chou

In order to avoid overclassifying your website's intrasite traffic, Rockerbox automatically excludes all traffic defined in the Settings > Domains > Allowed Domains field. Any traffic where the user navigated from a domain to the same or another domain listed in that field will automatically be excluded from consideration as a marketing event, even if there is a matching Channel Rule.

For example, if the listed domains include:

  • yourwebsite.com
  • mywebsite.com

Then a user that navigates in any of the following paths will not be considered eligible as a marketing event.

  • yourwebsite.com/blog > yourwebsite.com/products
  • mywebsite.com/customservice > mywebsite.com/help
  • yourwebsite.com > mywebsite.com
  • mywebsite.com > yourwebsite.com

Exception for Intrasite Traffic

If the destination URL contains at least one querystring parameter and the traffic meets one or more Channel Rule, then that intrasite navigation can be considered as a marketing event.

For example, while the following would normally be excluded:

  • yourwebsite.com/blog > yourwebsite.com/products

if instead the landing page included a parameter:

  • yourwebsite.com/blog > yourwebsite.com/products?source=blog

and there were a rule that matched source=blog, then that redirect will be treated as a marketing event (assuming there are no other exclusions).
